Oil temp is also calculated in certain ranges on Camaros as there's a big difference between that and aftermarket after adding a big cooler.My 2014 Silverado had no reading on temp gauge, fan running high and continuing to run after turned off. Took it to car wash/oil change place, told them the problem. Guy said he had that before. He took off one battery cable, waited 5 minutes (to give it plenty of time to re-set) and re-attached. Based on the information provided since the engine temperature gauge is reading low or stuck at 160 and since the engine cooling fans are on all of the time this can indicate a fault with the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring being shorted out or damaged or an issue with the engine computer itself internally to where it has to be replaced.After checking wiring fans have 12 volts to them and run when jumpered to battery. Grounds checked out good. Trigger wire checks out good. Fans did not come on when engine at operating temp. Coolant temp sensor was disconnected and fans come.
